What is the study?

Evidence has suggested that some people experienced menstrual changes after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. The purpose of this research is to assess the effect of the COVID-19 vaccine on menstruation by comparing the menstrual cycle before and after receiving the vaccination. This study is led by the gynecology team at Johns Hopkins. The principal investigator is Dr. Mostafa Borahay, MD, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Gynecology.

The study does not provide the vaccine, and study team members will not be offering guidance as to whether or not one should receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

We are enrolling participants who menstruate and are interested in receiving the vaccine for the first time or the COVID-19 booster dose. The study has been approved by the Johns Hopkins Institutional Review Board (IRB00301140).
